Prop 102
Okay, so for those of you outside of Arizona you may not know that we are voting on an amendment to declare that marriage is between one man and one women. Well, most people outside of our state are only hearing about the issue in California. As informed, and active voters Isaac and I have tried to help in whatever way that we can to promote marriage and family values. These things are soooo important. Anyhow we volunteered to take some door hangers to people in our neighborhood. Sounds pretty easy right. Well, we had a little missionary (I guess you could call it that) experience while we were doing this. We were all done and a guy stopped us and said hey are you from that church (meaning the church down the road, where our church is). Not thinking we just said yes. We really shouldn't have said that because in doing the stuff for Prop 102 we are not necessarily representing the church rather the coalition that supports marriage. Anyhow he then went on to razz us about how the rest of the world doesn't have a problem with one wife and how he knew that we did because he had been to our church. His final comment before he sped quickly away was to say, stay away from my property. Wow! So, the point of this is that we do only believe in one man and one women and we go to church every week and last I was there (yesterday) men only had one wife! We just told the guy to have a nice day and walked away. I left feeling a little in turmoil over how people would treat us....not for the Prop 102 stuff, but because we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints. Oh, my respect for the pioneers who went through this often and mercilessly continues to grow!

Hey. I've been learning a lot more about my ancestor Charles C Rich. He had 6 wives and 51 kids. It's crazy people still think the LDS church supports and practices polygamy. Anyway, good for you guys. That sounds like it could be scary.
